It is another audio transcription company that converts video, podcasts, lectures, and interviews into easily readable text.  They will evaluate you as a transcriber for on-time and quality of your work before you can get on-boarded to their Live Transcription Marketplace. Based on your evaluation, transcribers are rated Gold, Silver or Bronze.

This is another company that provides you with an opportunity to turn audio and video files into text. Speechpad is very selective in choosing which transcribers are qualified to work for them. If you are not fluent in English, good with grammar, and a fast typist, you will likely struggle with completing the jobs to the quality their clients expect.

All jobs are priced per audio minute. For transcription jobs, the pay ranges from $0.25/min for entry-level work to as high as $1.00/min for jobs requiring more experience. Captioning jobs pay between $.30/min and $1.00/min. Review jobs range from $0.20/min for entry-level work, up to $1.00/min for premium captions review.

Almost all transcription/ data entry companies will test your skills before giving you any actual paid work. It can be disappointing to go through the process only to be rejected because your typing skills are slow and/or filled with errors.

practice files can give you an idea of how fast and accurately you transcribe audio. there are particular tests that are geared toward transcriptionists.

These sites are free but may have sales pitches or ads that try to sell you certification or classes that you may not need. Use the tests just for the purpose of practice.

Wrapping It All Up

There are few barriers in terms of skills and education needed for data entry. Companies are more concerned about your skills and being able to perform the necessary tasks and being reliable than they are about what’s on your resume. They prefer to encourage the work instead, so if you are not fast enough and reliable, you will simply not make much money.

This, my friend, is where the practice is gonna play a big role if you are not a 65 word per minute typer. I am not a fast typer myself but I get the job done and the more you practice the faster you will get.

If you have found a legitimate data entry online job at an entry-level that you think would be a great addition for this post, let me know and I’ll add it to this post to help others looking for this information. I would really appreciate it.
